How can you leverage Wine About Cancer to benefit your campaign?

Silent Auction Package

Each candidate may have a package in the silent auction with 100% of the proceeds going back to their campaign. The details must be entered into the form below, as it should appear at the event, no later than Thursday, March 27th with plans to have it in our possession that week. Attendance is not required for this benefit. Auction packages may be dropped off at Market Advisory Group downtown at 110 E Waterman St. during business hours (tell reception it's for Tori/Wine About Cancer). You may also coordinate a pickup with Jessica.

Ticket Discount

Option to purchase 2 tickets for $40 total using discount code (YourLastName)25.
Ex: Your name is Ron Swanson. Add 2 tickets and at checkout use code Swanson25 and it'll discount them to a total of $40. You must add both tickets to the same transaction for the discount to work properly.
I'll send you digital tickets. You may do whatever you like with these tickets - attend, repurpose, auction off, use as an incentive, etc. This discount will only work while tickets are in stock so we recommend claiming them sooner than later.

Volunteer = $250

Provide a volunteer for our event and we'll donate $250 to your campaign. Easy as that. Each candidate will have the opportunity to provide two volunteers until March 14th. We will then announce any remaining volunteer openings which may be claimed on a first come first serve basis, still valued at $250 each. Requirements:

  • Register on the volunteer page
    • Include in the comments they’re with your team. If it doesn’t include your name, it doesn’t count.
    • Volunteers will be spread out/duties will vary but most require being on their feet all night. Special requests may be made during registration that we will try, but cannot promise, to honor.
  • Must be 21 or older and available to work 5:30-11:30 on Thursday, April 10th
  • Work the whole shift without any major issues
  • Check out with the designated volunteer lead to sign out before leaving

Note: we encourage our vendors and volunteers to join in on the fun and will be given an opportunity to walk around some to eat, drink, and enjoy themselves. We do not police how much volunteers drink but if it ever interferes with the guest experience or their ability to perform assigned duties, they will be asked to leave and disqualify for the $250 donation. While having fun ranks up there, the guest experience is our #1 priority. Bonuses may be awarded for top volunteers who help us execute our vision.

Candidate FAQ

No. However, if you wish to attend you may do so through ticket purchase or by volunteering. Non-attendees may still have a package in the silent auction.

When will I receive the funds raised from our team volunteers and/or silent auction?
A deposit will be made to your account within two weeks following the event.

Do I personally have to use my discounted tickets?
No, you may do whatever you like with those tickets.

What will volunteers be doing?
They may be assigned to a wide range of  tasks from pouring wine, to keeping surfaces clear of trash, to greeting guests. If there are any physical restrictions please have them make note while submitting their volunteer registration and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Do volunteers have to be 21?
Yes.

What should I wear?
It is a cocktail attire requested event. Shoes you can stand in for an extended period of time is advisable since most volunteers will be on their feet for the duration of the event.

Candidate Table & Volunteer FAQ

What is a candidate table/pouring station?
It is a table where wine is poured and sampled to guests. Provide 2-3 volunteers (may include yourself) for a sampling table and have the opportunity to raise money at it.

How can I raise money at the table?
Almost anything goes as long as you keep it at the table. (Past examples: raffle, donation jar, selling merch, etc.) Get creative. There’s a lot of money being donated that night. Claim it.

Your fundraising “activity” must be approved by Tori and may be subject to a first-come-first-serve basis. Your volunteers must be registered by deadline above.

What will volunteers be doing?
They will pour 2 oz samples of wine to guests. They may also fundraise at your table, but only at your table.

Do volunteers have to be 21?
Yes.

What should I wear?
It is a cocktail attire requested event. Shoes you can stand in for an extended period of time is advisable.

What if I can’t stay the whole time?
It is up to the candidate to ensure the table is staffed by at least 2 people at all times from 6 to 11. Shifts or anything else can be worked out as a team but you will only be given up to 3 volunteer passes.

Do I need prior wine experience?
No. The important thing is to keep the pours small unless the guest is confident they like the wine. (We hate to waste wine and there are a lot of others to be sampled.) Please also do not touch the bottles to the glasses while you are pouring. It is also recommended you spend a few minutes looking up your wines to be able to answer some basic questions.
